A family-run campground on the river, about 40 miles north of Silver City and four miles short of Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, with naturally formed hot pools open to campers and day visitors alike. It pairs neatly with a morning at the cliff dwellings. Day use is $8 a person for up to two hours, 9am to 6pm, first come first served, and it's cash or check only. Campers should reserve ahead (groups over eight must) and self-register on arrival. The family asks you not to phone in busy season, so get your answers from the website. They don't publish pool temperatures or clothing rules.
